Racing format:

Say goodbye to boring timed racing!  This is a competition of the very best in the nation and it will be decided heads up!  Our goal this year is to avoid making each builder sit for an entire day waiting for their car to race.  Our new format will make the race move along in a timely manner.  We will be constantly teching cars in and as soon as we get 16 in a class we will race a preliminary round for that class (We will race less or more as needed to make the day flow).  Tech in will continue throughout the day while the racing goes on to keep the race moving.  4 of the 16 cars in each preliminary will qualify for the semi finals/finals.  The elimination method will be a modified King of the Hill.  All cars will start in group “A”.  The cars will be randomly drawn and given random lane assignments for each race.  The top 2 finishers in the heat will remain in group “A” and the 3rd and 4th place cars will move to group “B”.  If a car places 3rd or 4th while running in group ”B” it is eliminated from the competition.  The preliminary round for each group will end when there are 2 cars left in group “A” and group “B”.  These cars will qualify for the semi finals/finals to be raced at 5:00pm Saturday.

Semi Finals will be conducted until there are 4 cars left in each class.  The semi final format will go to the traditional King of the Hill format until we find the final 4 cars.  Cars will be eliminated once they have lost to 4 cars.  Semi final heats and lane assignments will once again be done in a random format.

The finals will feature the 4 fastest cars from each class.  The finals will consist of 4 races with each car running once in each lane.  The cars will accrue a point value for the place of finish in each run and the final standings will be determined by the total points accrued.

*If possible, each builder will only have one car in each group of preliminary cars.

*If your car is eliminated you do have the option of making any adjustments you like and re entering it into the competition.  This does include proxy cars!  If you feel your car had a bad round you can have it re entered again.  Entry fee of $10 must be paid again for the car.

*Before the semi finals and the finals all builders will have the opportunity to relube their car.  If it is a proxy car then it will be relubed per any included instructions.  All proxy cars WILL have their wheels cleaned before the semi finals and finals begin to make the playing field as level as possible.

*There will be no software running the race.  The times will not be visible to the racers during the event but they will be recorded and all heat results with times will be published after the race.  We want to keep the level of suspense high!
