Q: Who is invited to race?  Do I have to win my Pinewood Derby district race to come?
A: Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to come race either live or by proxy.


Q: How much does it cost to race?
A: The cost is $10 per car.


Q: Is this a league race?
A: Yes.  This race is a leg in the NPWDRL pinewood derby circuit.


Q: Is there a division for the kids?
A: NO!  All competitors will race together.  We have found that the majority of the racers in the kids division are Dad built cars anyway.


Q: Is there a prize for the overall winner?
A: We will crown class champions but we will also crown the overall National Champion that turns out the best performance in all the classes.  HUGE TROPHY and more!


Q: Can I relube my Pinewood Derby car during the race?
A: NO.  Nothing can be done to the cars once they have gone through tech in to make it fair for the proxy racers..


Q: Is there a show division?
A: No.


Q: Can I test my Pinewood Derby car before the race?
A: YES!  The track is available for use up until Friday June 15th at 4:00pm.  We will close down after this time to prepare for the race.


Q: Is it safe to ship a car and how do I do it?
A: It is very safe and simple to ship cars.  League racers race by proxy every month.  The most affordable and simple way I have found to ship a car can be purchased at www.derbydad4hire.com.




Q: Will there be a video?
A: YES!

DerbyDad4Hire Pinewood Performance Shop was built just for the intent of racing Pinewood Derby® cars!  There will be most anything you could need on hand.  If there is a certain product you want please contact me to make sure I have it for you.

Best Track

The 2012 Pinewood Derby® National Championship race will be held on a 2 lane 42' custom Best Track with 80" of divided stopping section for the safety of the cars.

The racing format will be a timed 4 run average for the preliminaries.  Depending on the number of entries per class racers will qualify for the finals.

1 to 10 racers- 4 qualify for finals

11 to 20 racers- 6 qualify for finals

21 to 30 racers- 8 qualify for finals

31+ racers- 12 qualify for finals

Finals will run a double elimination format to determine the winner.

*Derby Master software will run the race.
